The Deep Dive crew discuss my book, Digital WTF. This is a collection of columns I wrote for The Register between 2014 to 2018. This one is 32 minutes, which gives a lot of time to see the weird things - strange noises they make, repeated phrases and talking patterns. In the producer notes, I asked them to do a scat intro, but they didn’t manage it. Maybe next time!
This one is the longest I’ve gotten it to make so far. You can see it start to frizzle out a bit. Also, they repeat themselves on each topic. I didn’t listen back to see if it’s the same exact commentary or newly phrased. They also try to wrap up about fifteen minutes in, but then just keep talking for fifteen minutes more. I mean, that does happen on podcasts from time to time.
You can also see the decent into a “wow, amazing!” type of hollow talk.
They do a great job pronouncing my name perfectly though, which is better than most people.
